Maciza

The challenge

With Tulum’s signature architecture and design style, there’s no shortage of design and build firms (and everything in between), to get things up and running. Maciza wanted to stand out from their market competitors and become a market leader in their field whilst still representing the signature style of Tulum.

A new identity

The colour palette was reflective of the rushes and reeds materials, which are commonly found in Tulum, blended with a grounded, deep earth tone to provide balance and contrast to the palette. The font used throughout the brand was bold yet expressive to bring the personality of Maciza to life.

Website Strategy

If there was one thing to be certain of, it was that the Maciza website had to stand out amongst their market peers. The website had to be memorable.

During my research, I came to discover many market peers and competitors had overcrowded websites that had a stark white background along with a gallery of images to display their work. The layout and journey of the new website would be key to guiding visitors to book in, staying memorable and building credibility. Through my research and strategy, I had clear direction on how to support Maciza in achieving their business goals.

Website design

After completing the research and strategy phase in collaboration with Maciza, I created a simple, yet impactful website that showcased their beautiful work, took their website visitors on a seamless journey having every page tell a story and added custom coded dynamic features to stay memorable.

Squarespace development

I developed the Maciza website on Squarespace due to its robust, secure and versatile capabilities that made a unique and stand out design possible. Once the website was fully developed and launched, I walked the team through the Squarespace platform to make sure they were confident and comfortable making changes to text, images and adding future projects to their portfolio.
